Animal welfare in ecological production: lying hens

Ecological agriculture constitutes a production technology which is friendly to the environment and animals. In order to ensure the welfare and at the same time profitability of production, additional activities are required. The issue of feeding based on feeds from one's own farm as well as the problem of rooms and runs for animals require a particular attention.
