The environmental evaluation of the technical objects, especially machines and devices, is relatively new area in Poland. There are still very few enterprises interested in this topic. Furthermore, the acquisition of the complete knowledge about the environmental impact of products, especially of foreign producers, is immensely difficult. The main goal of this paper is to familiarize the reader with the ideal of the quantification of the environmental impacts of the technical objects and processes. In the experimental part the two case studies are presented. One concerns the analysis of the environmental impacts of the selected stages of the life cycle of machines, namely food packaging machines. The second one is referred to the evaluation of the environmental impacts of the food packaging processes and distribution.
