Field experiments were conducted to estimate yielding of some sweet maize varieties planted after mechanical weeder control at the Agricultural University of Poznań in 2005- 2007. There was stated that the cultivation method significantly influenced the cob yield independently of tested varieties. The highest yield was stated after hand cultivation method. Other features like the cobs number per 1 ha, the fraction of totally grained cobs, cobs length and the number of grains in cob depended on cultivation method. Mechanical cultivation method gave the least advantageous effects with reference to these parameters.
