Comparison of selected polish and foreign potato cultivars under organic production

The experiment concerning organic production of potatoes was carried out in 2008-2010 in two places: Jadwisin and Osiny. Eight cultivars of different earliness were tested. In each group of earliness one Polish and one foreign cultivar was assessed. Following features were tested: plant development, total yield and its structure, external and internal tuber disorders. It was found that Polish cultivars had statistically higher above-ground mass and higher LAI - index. The average yield of Polish varieties was higher than foreign and they had better yield structure. There were no statistical differences in marketable quality of tubers depending on cultivar origin.
