The John Deere 6830 tractor, adapted for vegetable oil was used to the study. Since two years the engine was running on rapeseed oil, which parameters were corresponding to the standard DIN V 51 605 together with 2VegOil Project requirements. The aim of the study was to compare the power and the fuel consumption of diesel engine (model: 6068HL481 with a nominal power of 103 kW) worked on diesel, then with rapeseed oil. The measurement was performed using the engine brake PT 301 MES and fuel gauge MES AMX 212F. On the base of measured parameters 15% decrease in power and 15% increase in specific fuel consumption was observed.
