Incidence of the aphids - vectors of potato viruses on organic and integrated plantation and health of seed potato tubers

ABSTRACT
The study was carried out in the years 2005 - 2006 on two potato plantations: organic and integrated. The aim of the study was to assess the number of aphids on potato plants. After the harvest the assessement of seed potato seed infection with the viruses was done. It has found that number of the aphids on plants from organic plantation was higher. Potato seed infection with the potato leafroll virus from organic plantation was higher too, however infection with virus Y was lower. The level of potato seed infection with virus M on both plantations was similar.
